The vote of a Kashmiri

The elections in J&K were complete yesterday as in the rest of India. Kashmiri once again defied the call of the separatists and gave a clear signal to the world that he in the heart of his hearts believed in the strength of vote not the gun of a militant. The belief of a common Kashmiri in the Indian democratic set up has further established. It is again a clear rebuff to the separatist elements working overtime strengthening hate-India campaign. These people have been successful to a large extent in exploiting the sensitive religious sentiment of the people and getting in their fold a good number of people especially youth to support them. There is no limit to the suffering of the masses in Kashmir at the hands of the terror machinery sponsored by Pakistan and her allies. Thousands of innocent people have been killed so far in the clashes between the security forces and the highly motivated and armed foreign militants. The innocent people became the victims of the wrath of both security personnel and hordes of gunmen playing hide and seek with them.In the scenario the courageous vote of a Kashmiri to send once again his representative to the Indian Parliament is of great significance. As such it’s high time for the Indian diplomats and the media especially to read the writing on the wall and work sincerely and with responsibility strengthening the growing pro-India sentiment in the valley. A single statement or action of the people at the helm of affairs or the irresponsible media can make a lot of damage. A common Kashmiri is a seriously bruised soul and a very bad victim of circumstances created by the enemy forces for the last more than two decades. He needs a sentimental approach to heal his wounds. He has given enough signals of his integrity towards India and it’s now for the politicians both Kashmir based (mainstream) and those in Delhi how they respect their fresh mandate for India.

I’ve decided to remove absolutely all your three comments for serious derogatory and abusive language in fact tantamount to misuse of this forum. Still I’d like to reply some of the points raised by you in the removed comments for further discussions if any.

You have a problem, you do not have the capacity to hear anything said refuting your views whether true or false. Instead of trying to understand sincerely what the other says you immediately turn rude and abusive.
To you all Jammu newspapers are communal because the area has a majority of Hindus. Can’t the same be said of Kashmir? I can give you ten authentic examples proving the latter assertion but I don’t want to indulge in such mud slinging.
Your both comments neither justified nor refuted my observation. The first gave a statistical data of the voter percentage from a news paper clipping and the second a general view of a newspaper correspondent about the volatile Kashmir situation. My reference in my post is the significance of the Kashmir Vote not the percentage. My view is based on various aspects of the Kashmir Vote taking into account the number of election meetings held in different areas especially rural areas along with the record number of candidates in the fray in all the three constituencies. It’s no secret that the low percentage of votes was because of the severe threat perception and the courage of those who dared the serious risk of lives is really appreciable. As such how can it be attributed to a total negation of Indian democratic system or a referendum against India. It's undoubtedly a positive gesture and an open rebuff to the separatist cause. Thousands of Kashmir leaders were actively involved in the elections held under the Indian union, thousands participated in election meetings in rural areas though very less from urban population because of severe militant threat. Is this all of no significance? Does it not send a positive signal to the outside world that the masses in Kashmir want peace and prosperity not the turmoil and suffering? Your getting flared up instantly upon reading the writing on the wall is a sufficient indicator to your guilty conscience.
The strained Indo-Pak relation is surely a matter of great concern for the whole international community. There is no doubt that the explosive situation can take any turn anytime but the responsible people at the helm of affairs on both sides are trying their best to avoid the matters taking any such ugly turn.
